i'll just consider lasik and be on my way

i went to the eye doctor today. it was ok, just a lot of questions and a lot of "ooh, your eyes are pretty bad, you should consider lasik". the doctor was pretty nice, i think he had at least a triple espresso before coming into the room. but he was nice.

then, i went to check out and do dan (husband) the favor of picking up his contacts that he'd ordered earlier that day. i thought it was a pretty simple thing, but here is the response i got: they started out “oh, you just got married! we can combine your files!” and i said, “uh, no. i didn’t just get married. you can combine our files if you want, but it might be hard to find my file if you do” and then the receptionist said “oh, well, that’s ok if you want to keep your name” and then me, “uh, thanks” and then the doctor next to me said “if you combine their files she might loose her identity”, and then “you could hyphenate it”, and a lot of chuckling and snickering.

it was fun.
