snow day!

we got a huge snow storm here in the portland area that lasted for several days. the most snow they've had in 30 years! i think at our house we got about a foot or so. it was fun. they don't plow the roads, except the highways and city streets, and the plows have rubber bits so the roads are really bumpy. the whole city shut down for about 3 days! it was really fun. well, dan and i had fun because we're used to snow storms like that, but a lot of portlanders were really nervous. it was also very icy. when they say there will be frozen rain, they really mean it!! it was kind of a trip seeing rain coming down that was frozen. it sounds like hail when it lands, but it's rain!!

last day of the first semester....

some of my friends from grad school - every thursday after class we head over to virginia's cafe on 10th. last thursday was especially great cause we made it through the first semester! dan comes every once in a while, but i think he tries to avoid all the psychobabble. oh, and the jokes about how he watches me do yoga.

thanksgiving for two

our thanksgiving meal turned out really delicious. we made homemade buttermilk rolls, spaghetti squash with herbs, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce with raspberries and oranges, cauliflower, pumpkin pie, and had turkey and tofurkey! it was really nice to spend some time quiet time together, eating food we cooked all morning. and it rained all day. perfect.

turkey AND tofurkey!

buttermilk rolls mmmmmmm

everything

and dan, the best part

we also went to pioneer square to see the tree lighting. but left to go to e-san before the ACTUAL lighting cause we were hungry and they were taking too long.
